Why YouTube threatened these users to ban them!

YouTube today responded to its criticism of harassing website users by updating its policies and imposing a ban on implicit threats and abhorrent insults.

YouTube explained that it still prohibits content that explicitly includes someone's threat or encourages people to harass someone else, but it will now add implicit threats and degrading language to its previous criteria.

The site, owned by Google, said it includes content that incites violence against a person or language that suggests that violence may occur.

"No one should be subjected to harassment that suggests violence ... and without threatening anyone, there is insulting language that crosses borders," YouTube Vice President Matt Halperin said in a message.

Halperin added that the new policy prohibits content that abusively insults people because of things like race, sex and sexual orientation.
